This is the iconic, at least in the golfing world, Lone Cypress. The light was harsh and the wind equally so, as it is on this part of the 17 Mile Drive. I was fortunate that we were there on a weekday when they were having a special event of some sort at the Pebble Beach Golf Club and did not have to contend with too many people crowding up around this old tree.
There was a crew of 3 near the tree collecting survey data on seals on the rocks below. I spent some time watching them work and enjoyed hearing the interaction amongst them.
